How to wrinkle paint your valve cover

How can you use the wrinkle paint on your valve cover cam?

Here are the steps to follow:

1. First of all remove your valve cover and sandblast it if the old paint is on it

2. Sandblast is not necessary. You can simply sand the surface and clean it well with our strong cleaner for metals

3. From now on remember to wear gloves!

4. The application of wrinkle paint liquid is the same as the spray can:

- Shake the paint or the spray can. If you use the spray gun apply a 1,3/1,4 needle

- Start with a first light coat and wait 15 minutes at room temperature

- Apply the first heavy coat all over the piece and wait 15 minutes at room temperature

- Apply the second heavy coat all over the piece and wait 15 minutes at room temperature

- Apply a third heavy coat all over the piece and wait 15 minutes at room temperature.

- If 3 heavy coats are enough you can stop here. Otherwise, apply the fourth one

- After the last heavy coat of wrinkle paint Kustom Service wait 30/45 minutes at room temperature

- Start now to use the hot air with one of the following methods:

Usually, air temperature must be no less than 50° celsius and not over 80°celsius. 60° celsius is the best.

Is not necessary to put the oven at temperature, just put the piece inside and start.

Remember that you can use:

1. Heat Gun

2. Infrared

3. Small oven

In any case, the piece must be at a minimum of 50 or better at 60° celsius. Only at this point it will start the wrinkle paint process.

You can also put the piece at 80° celsius it's up to you and the final wrinkle paint effect can change.

 

Time table to wrinkle:

- After 45 minutes dry time at room temperature just 15 minutes with hot air

 

Time table to dry:

- After 2 hours in the oven at minimum of 50/60° celsius

- At room temperature in common winter (13/15° celsius) is enough 2 weeks

- At room temperature in cool winter (under 7° celsius) is enough 1 month

- At room temperature in summer it takes 4 days
